Get ready for an fun mountain biking adventure designed for young riders aged 7-11! Join us as we embark on a 2-hour coached session, immersing ourselves in the picturesque trails of Oakwell Hall. This event is perfect for young mountain bikers looking to improve their skills, boost their confidence, and develop a solid foundation in off-road riding. Participants must be able to cycle on grass or towpath terrain confidently for over an hours as well as being able to stop safely, this is suitable for riders upto riding easy blue graded trails.

Exploring Oakwell Hall: While your young riders are immersed in their exhilarating mountain biking session, parents have the opportunity to explore the magnificent surroundings of Oakwell Hall. This historic site has some lovely parkland, gardens and a cafe, you wander through gardens, or visit the buildings whilst the session is on. It’s the perfect chance to relax and indulge in some personal time while your children are enjoying their biking adventure. Or if you live locally, you can always pop home, as long as you are contactable by phone.

Under the guidance of our highly qualified and experienced instructors, participants will engage in a variety of skill-building activities to enhance their mountain biking abilities. This session will focus on progressive skills, ensuring that riders of all levels, from beginners to those with prior experience, can benefit from the coaching. We believe that developing good habits right from the start sets the stage for long-term success and enjoyment.

  8. Trailside Bike Repairs as required: Acquire essential knowledge for handling basic repairs on the go.

What You Need: To make the most of this mountain biking adventure, here’s what participants should come prepared with:

  • Dress for the conditions: Expect to get muddy! Wear appropriate clothing that allows for movement and protects you from the elements.
  • Mountain Bike: Ensure you have a working, decent quality mountain bike suitable for off-road riding. It should be capable of enduring a 2-hour off road excursion, including climbing a couple of hills.
  • Safety Gear: Helmets are compulsory for safety. We also highly recommend wearing gloves, pads, and glasses.
  • Snacks and Hydration: Carry suitable snacks or cereal bars to keep your energy levels up during the session. Don’t forget a full water bottle to stay hydrated.
  • Spare Inner Tube: It’s always a good idea to be prepared, so if possible, bring along a spare inner tube to handle unexpected punctures or tyre issues.
