About this Event: Prepare to immerse yourself in an unforgettable 2-hour coaching session that will take you through the exhilarating trails of Oakwell Hall. This event is designed to foster independence and enhance your bike skills. With limited participants, we welcome young riders aged 7-11 who possess high levels of experience (lots of blue trails, upto reds and black trails) and are ready to take their mountain biking to the next level.

The Aims: Our primary objective is to not only refine your riding abilities but also showcase some of the best trails Yorkshire has to offer. During this session, we will focus on progressive skills, enabling you to confidently tackle a range of technical terrain. Brace yourself for an exciting curriculum that covers the following key areas:

  1. Steep Terrain: Master the art of descending and climbing steep sections with control and confidence.
  2. Jumping: Learn to soar through the air with proper technique and land smoothly on the trail.
  3. Loose Surfaces: Develop the skills to handle loose, unpredictable surfaces with finesse.
  4. Rocky Terrain: Conquer rocky terrain by understanding how to maintain balance and choose optimal lines.
  5. Dynamic Balance: Enhance your ability to maintain stability and control in dynamic riding situations.
  6. Railing Corners: Perfect your cornering skills to maintain speed and control around tight bends.
  7. Braking for Pros: Refine your braking techniques to maximize control and safety in demanding conditions.
  8. Bunny Hops: Discover the art of lifting both wheels off the ground for improved maneuverability.
  9. Drops: Gain the confidence to tackle drops of varying heights with proper technique.
  10. Crafty Climbing: Unlock the secrets of efficient climbing on challenging ascents.

Participants: To fully immerse yourself in this advanced mountain biking adventure, please ensure you come prepared with the following:

  • Dress for the Conditions: Expect to get muddy! Wear suitable clothing that allows for freedom of movement and protects you from the elements.
  • Mountain Bike: Bring a high-quality mountain bike in good working condition, capable of enduring a 2-hour off-road excursion.
  • Safety Gear: Helmets are compulsory for your safety during the session.
  • Snacks and Hydration: Carry energizing snacks or cereal bars to fuel your ride, along with a full water bottle to stay hydrated.
  • Spare Inner Tube: It’s always wise to be prepared, so if possible, bring a spare inner tube to handle unexpected punctures.

It’s the perfect chance to relax and indulge in some personal time while your children are enjoying their biking adventure. Or if you live locally, you can always pop home, as long as you are contactable by phone.
